Why Buy This MS69 2013-P Five Star Generals $5 Gold Commemorative?

Many people and events have been honored by the US Mint’s modern commemorative program over the years. In 2013, the Five Star Generals of the US Army were included. This $5 gold commemorative was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. It is 90% gold by weight and the same size as a classic $5 gold coin. The uncirculated version offered here had a very low mintage. Only 5,667 of them were struck.

On the obverse, Five Star General Douglas MacArthur is pictured. Just to the right of him, 5 stars are displayed above the date. On the reverse, the Fort Leavenworth Lamp is shown. This is also where the face value and mintmark can be found.

The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) was selected to grade and encapsulate this $5 gold commemorative. From their 70 point grading scale, it received the grade of Mint State 69. That means it is nearly flawless and may appear perfect to the naked eye.
