Why buy this 2012-W Infantry Soldier Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar?
The United States established itself through revolution against the British. Since then, the country has been engaged in wars for almost its entire existence. Americans take time each year to honor the sacrifices made by those who served, both those who returned and those who didn't. In 2012, the United States Mint specifically honored the Infantry, which has taken the lion's share of casualties in America's wars. This coin is perfect for any collector who honors the service of those who gave so much - and, in many cases, all.
Powerful Infantryman Design by Joel Iskowitz
Obverse: The obverse design was created by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The design features a single modern Infantryman charging with his weapon in his hand. Inscriptions on this face include "LIBERTY," the national motto, 'IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2012."
Reverse: On the reverse is the Infantry's insignia, which consists of crossed rifles. The design was created by Donald Sanders and sculpted by Norman Nemeth. Above the rifles is the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Below them are inscriptions of the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR," and the second statutory motto, "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
Flawless PF70 UC ER with Camo Label
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) awarded this coin the highest available grade, Proof 70. In doing so, the grading company indicated that the coin appears perfect under 5x magnification. NGC also certified this piece Ultra Cameo (UC) and Early Releases (ER). The UC designation credits the coin for having particularly sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while the ER certification means that it was submitted for grading no more than 30 days after its initial release from the mint. This information comes provided on a Camo label.
