Why purchase this flawless 2012-W Burnished American Silver Eagle coin?

The U.S. Mint launched the American Silver Eagle series in 1986. The series was expanded in 2006 in honor of its 20th anniversary, with the addition of a Silver Eagle variety with a satin-like burnished finish. The burnished variety was not minted in 2009-2010, making this 2012 dated coin the fifth year of issue of the burnished type Silver Eagle coin.

  • This 2012-W American Silver Eagle coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • The exquisite satiny finished 40.60 mm diameter coin is a product of the West Point Mint.
  • The coin earned the Early Releases attribution.
  • The silver dollar includes an American Liberty Series certification label.
  • The coin is one of 226,120 minted.

Gorgeous Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse walking towards the rising sun carrying an oak and laurel bouquet, while elegantly wrapped in an American flag. This timeless rendition of Liberty is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by acclaimed medallic sculptor Adolph A. Weinman. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2012."

Reverse: The reverse features a heraldic eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows, with thirteen stars above. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "W" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." This handsome eagle design is credited to John Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The classic image is the identifying element of the Type-1 Silver Eagle issued from 1986 until mid-2021.
