Why purchase the 2012-S U.S. Mint Limited Edition Silver Proof Set?

The first Limited Edition Silver Proof Set was released by the U.S. Mint in 2012. The set combined the year's 90% silver proof coins with the Proof American Silver Eagle, each struck at the San Francisco Mint, carrying the "S" Mint mark. Final mintage of the inaugural year issue of the Limited Edition set is reported to be 44,952.

2012 America the Beautiful Quarters with Classic United States Coinage Designs

This limited-edition set includes one Kennedy half-dollar and one Roosevelt dime, as well as the five 2012 America the Beautiful Quarter designs honoring El Yunque National Forest, Chaco Culture National Historical Park, Acadia National Park, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and Denali National Park and Preserve, each struck from .900 fine silver. The eighth proof of the set, struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, is the American Silver Eagle, designed by Adolph A. Weinman and John Mercanti.
