From College Backup to Pro Bowler
Ryan Tannehill played for the Texas A&M Aggies from 2007-2011. In his first three seasons, he lost battles for the starting quarterback job but earned time at wide receiver. In the middle of his junior year, he took over as the starting quarterback. Between his junior and senior seasons, he started 21 games, throwing for 5,382 yards and 42 touchdowns.
The Miami Dolphins selected Tannehill with the eighth pick overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Tannehill started every game of his first four seasons and thirteen of his fifth before his 2016 season was shortened by injury. He missed the entire 2017 season due to another injury and spent one more season with the Dolphins. In 2019, he went to the Tennessee Titans and started the season as a backup. He went on to start ten games, going 7-3 as a starter. That season, he earned his first spot in the Pro Bowl while leading the NFL in passer rating and was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year. Tannehill remains with the Titans today.
