2011-S Silver U.S. Army Commemorative Dollar
In 2011, as part of the United States Mint’s Modern Commemorative coin program, 3 coins were made to honor the US Army. In addition to the silver dollar offered here, a half dollar and $5 gold coin were produced. Two versions of the silver dollar were offered, proof and uncirculated. This is the uncirculated version and has a mintage of only 43,512. Of the two versions that were offered, this is the rarer one. This coin is 90% silver by weight and weighs the same amount as a Morgan dollar.
