Reverse: The reverse image features the focal point of Olympus National Park: Mount Olympus. The park consists of very diverse habitats including coastal areas, mountains, woodlands, fields, valleys, lakes and rivers. The design shows a Roosevelt elk standing on in the Hoh River with Olympus in the background. The coins reverse image was designed by Susan Gamble of the AIP and engraved by U.S. Mint medallic artist Michael Gaudioso.

Obverse: The timeless portrait of George Washington based on the Jean-Antoine Houdin bust resides on the obverse of this issue. It was designed by famed coin designer John Flanagan.
