The two coins available only through the purchase of the set were the San Francisco uncirculated finish which bears the “S” Mint mark and the distinctive “P” Mint mark reverse proof finish coin, struck in Philadelphia. Each coin contains 1 oz. of .999 pure silver and is legal tender in the United States.
The obverse design was based on Adolph Weinman’s Walking Liberty half dollar. The reverse was designed by the US Mint’s 12th Chief Engraver, John Mercanti.
