Why buy this Isle of Man 2010 1 oz. High Relief Platinum Angel Proof?

The first British Angel coins were issued in 1489, but 2010 was the first time that such a coin was issued in Platinum. That gives this High Relief 2010 Isle of Man 1 oz. Platinum Angel Proof a combination of rich history and novelty that is virtually unmatched. This coin was struck at the Pobjoy Mint from .999 fine platinum and is one of only 500 of its kind.

Stunning Michael the Archangel Design

On the obverse of this coin is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in British history. The Pobjoy Mint exclusive image shows the monarch with a tiara on her head, and her portrait is larger than it is on coins from other countries and territories. Rim inscriptions together read, "ELIZABETH II ISLE OF MAN 2010."

On the reverse is a powerful image of Michael the Archangel. His well-defined muscles are on full display, and he wears only a loincloth. He protects himself with his shield as he slays a dragon, long a symbol of the devil.

Virtually Flawless Proof 69 Ultra Cameo

The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this coin has just a minuscule imperfection or two by awarding it their second highest grade, Proof 69. They also certified that the coin bears particularly sharp contrasts between frosted devices and mirrored fields by labeling it an Ultra Cameo.
