2009 marked the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. To honor the life and legacy of President Lincoln, the U.S. Mint issued a commemorative silver dollar. This Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial silver dollar has a brilliant uncirculated finish, it was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. These silver dollars completely sold out at the Mint, there were 125,000 released with a brilliant uncirculated finish.

Lincoln Designs by Kunz and Hemphill

The obverse of this silver dollar features a detailed depiction of Abraham Lincoln designed by Justin Kunz. This depiction of Lincoln was actually based on the statue at the Lincoln Memorial. The date and mint mark can be found between Lincoln and "LIBERTY."

On the reverse, a ribbon and a wreath can be seen around some of Lincoln's words from the Gettysburg Address. The central portion of the ribbon features a recreation of Lincoln's signature.

This specimen has a Lincoln Centennial label to display its grade from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Their team of experts examined it carefully but no imperfections could be found. It was awarded the grade of Mint State 70, which is reserved for flawless specimens.
