Why add the 2009-P Australia Gold Sovereign $25 PCGS GEM BU FS Flag Label to your collection?

This 2009-P Australia Gold Sovereign $25 was determined to be in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and was encapsulated with the collectible First Strikes Flag Label. This issue was the first in this new gold sovereign series struck by Australia's World Famous Perth Mint. The Perth Mint was established in 1899 and struck Gold Sovereigns as part of the British Royal Mint system during the reigns of Queen Victoria, and King Edward 7th and King George 5th. The coin contains .2352 oz. actual gold weight (AGW) with a 22 karat purity. It has a 2500 coin mintage.

Reimagined Gold Sovereign Design for Australia

The reverse features the Australian Commonwealth Coat of Arms instead of the classic Pistrucci reverse. The Coat of Arms has the badges of the six Australian States of the Commonwealth on a shield which is flanked by a kangaroo and an emu. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II designed by British artist Ian Rank-Broadley.
