2009 1 oz. Gold Buffalo

The Gold Buffalo was introduced by the U.S. Mint in 2006. This entire series is made of 24 karat gold. With a fineness of .9999, this is one of the purest gold coins offered by the U.S. Mint. The Gold Buffalo series has been a hit with collectors from the start and the mintage figures for this coin in 2009 are some of the highest. While those mintage figures were high for the series, they’re nothing compared to the 40,000,000 or so Silver Eagles produced every year. The final mintage for the 2009 Gold Buffalo was 200,000.
