Why add the 2008 Zimbabwe, Reserve Bank 100 Trillion Dollar Note PMG 66 Choice Uncirculated to your collection?

The experts at Paper Money Guaranty (PMG, the paper money unit of Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, NGC) evaluated this 2008 Zimbabwe, Reserve Bank 100 Trillion Dollar Note and found it to be in the Gem Uncirculated 66 grade. This note has the distinction of being the largest denomination banknote ever printed in the history of mankind. The Zimbabwe dollar was once on par with the United States dollar. After Zimbabwe experienced bouts of hyperinflation in the first decade of the 21st century, the currency was demonetized.

The disastrous metaphor

The obverse of the banknote features the Chiremba Balancing Rocks. This image was used as a metaphor for the importance of balancing economic development and the preservation of the fragile physical environment.

Choice Uncirculated 66 EPQ

Notes at the Choice Uncirculated 66 level will be crisp, unsoiled and have outstanding eye appeal. The centering of the note will be above average. The note may have a minor distraction as a result of minor handling. An Exceptional Paper Quality (EPQ) note is completely original. EPQ notes will not have been altered to give the appearance of a higher grade. Notes at the Choice Uncirculated 65 grade and higher all qualify for the EPQ designation.
