Why add this impeccably graded Burnished 2008-W American Silver Eagle coin to your collection?

The American Silver Eagle coin with an all-over satiny burnished (uncirculated) finish was introduced by the U.S. Mint in 2006, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the popular silver dollar series. The burnished coin carries a "W" Mint mark to clearly distinguish it from the significantly higher mintage bullion variety.

  • This 2008-W American Silver Eagle coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
  • The coin was struck at the Mint's facility in West Point, New York.
  • The silver dollar features a gorgeous satin-like burnished finish.
  • The coin measures 40.60 mm in diameter.
  • The perfectly graded coin is accompanied by a hand signed label.
  • The coin is part of a 533,757 piece mintage.

Sensational Patriotic Silver Eagle Imagery

Obverse: The obverse illustrates Lady Liberty draped in the folds of an American flag, while walking towards the rising sun, accompanied by the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "2008" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." The image is a replica of the design created by acclaimed early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar obverse.

Reverse: A heraldic eagle is depicted on the reverse, grasping an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. Designed by 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti, this graphic is currently recognized as the Type-1 Silver Eagle style that appeared on every release of the series from 1986 until mid-2021. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "W."

Pristine Mint State 70

This 2008-W Burnished American Silver Eagle coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for authentication and review. The silver dollar was judged to be worthy of the NGC's highest grade of Mint State 70 for its flawlessly executed strike, perfectly finished surfaces and tremendous eye appeal. The 1 oz. silver coin is encapsulated in a sonically sealed NGC holder with a certification label featuring designer John Mercanti's signature and an attractive American flag graphic.
