Why Purchase This Brilliant Uncirculated 2008 Australia 1 oz. Silver Kookaburra?
The first Silver Kookaburra coins were issued by Australia in 1990. The Silver Kookaburra shown here was minted in 2008. It weighs 1 troy oz. and is made of .999 fine silver. This series is known for its annually changing design and low mintage limits. There were 300,000 1 oz. Silver Kookaburras struck in 2008. Like other coins of the series, this one was struck at the Perth Mint.
Impressive Kookaburra Design
The face value is displayed on the obverse. This side also shows Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The designer's initials are just below Her Majesty's neck.
The date and silver content can be found on the reverse. This side features a kookaburra with a life-like level of detail. It is sitting on a branch next to a spider web. The inscription "THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA" is at the top.
This coin is still in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition, just like when it left the Perth Mint in Australia. It has not been graded or encapsulated by a third-party service.
Order while you have the chance, this BU 2008 Australia 1 oz. Silver Kookaburra could be a part of your collection.
