Why order this 2007-W American Burnished Silver Eagle?
The Burnished Silver Eagle was first issued in 2006 on the 20th anniversary of the Silver Eagle and Silver Eagle Proof. The coin proved extremely popular as a new look at two classic designs. No fan of the iconic Silver Eagle should be without this stunning piece.
Featuring the Patriotic Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The obverse design comes from Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty half dollar. Liberty carries laurel and oak branches, symbols of civilian and military honors, respectively, as she strides to the left side of this face, where the morning sun is beginning to rise. Obverse inscriptions read, "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2007." Adolph Weinman is best known for his Walking Liberty half dollar and Mercury dime. He was also a renowned sculptor, whose work can be seen inside and outside of many important buildings.
Reverse: John Mercanti designed the reverse, modelling it off of the Great Seal of the United States. Thirteen stars are arranged in a triangular formation above an eagle, which guards a union shield. Inscriptions along the rim note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the coin's weight, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and its face value, "ONE DOLLAR." John Mercanti served as Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. Throughout his career, he has designed more coins and medals than anyone else in the history of the US Mint. He has also collaborated with the Perth Mint on the Wedge-Tailed Eagle Series.
