Why add this American Silver Eagle Proof coin struck in 2007 to your collection?
The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Design of the coin has remained unchanged throughout the series, its obverse replicating the iconic "Walking Liberty" Half Dollar designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. This 22nd year of issue proof release was minted at the U.S. Mint's West Point branch, carries a "W" Mint mark, and is among a final reported mintage of 821,759. The American Silver Eagle coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, measuring 40.60 mm in diameter.
Gorgeous Walking Liberty Design
Lady Liberty strides towards the sunrise on the obverse, with an American flag elegantly draped around her, with the word "LIBERTY" sweeping overhead. Additional inscriptions include "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2007."
The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, features a bald eagle behind a vertically striped shield; an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left, an image inspired by the Great Seal of the United States.
