2007 1 oz. Silver Eagle NGC MS69

This 2007 Silver Eagle is in excellent condition, so much so that the Numismatic Guarantee Corporation gave it a grade of MS69. That indicates that the coin has at most two small, non-detracting marks or flaws. In most cases, viewers would need to look for such flaws with a viewing lens to find them. The coin measures 40.6 mm in diameter, and its silver weight of 1 Troy oz. is backed by the government of the United States.

Design of the 2007 Silver Eagle

The 2007 1 oz. Silver Eagle borrows its design from Adolph Weinman’s Walking Liberty half dollar. Wearing a Phrygian cap, Lady Liberty strides confidently toward the coin’s left. She is draped in the American flag, part of which waves in the upper left. That part is partially obscured by her right arm, which is extended in front of her. In her left hand, she holds laurel and oak branches, which symbolize civilian and military honors. The branches are long enough to extend over her shoulder. To the left, the sun sets behind a mountain. Its rays emanate upward. On the opposite side, the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” is inscribed. The mintage year, “2007,” is at the bottom, while the word “LIBERTY” spans the top half of the rim.

On the reverse, a heraldic eagle guards a shield, which has thirteen stripes. In one talon, the eagle grasps an olive branch, while in the other it holds arrows. The initials of the man who created the design, “JM” for John Mercanti, are inscribed just under the arrows. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon that bears the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” (From many, one). Over its head is a triangular arrangement of thirteen stars that, like the stripes on the shield, represent the original states. On the bottom, collectors can find information about the coin’s metal content and face value. The inscription reads, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER~ONE DOLLAR.” Taking up the rest of the rim is the inscription that bears the name of the country that issued the coin, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

Owners and potential buyers of this 2007 Silver Eagle can verify the authenticity and grade of the coin by using the certification number and bar code that NGC includes on the label.

This 2007 American Silver Eagle NGC MS69 is proudly minted by the U.S. Mint. The United States Mint was founded in 1792 and manufactures circulating, collectible, and bullion coinage.
