Why add this beautifully struck Ultra Cameo 2006-W Proof Gold American Eagle $25 coin to your collection?

The U.S. Mint's American Gold Eagle celebrated its 20th year of release in 2006. Struck in four denominations, the coin pays tribute to the cherished Lady Liberty design created by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907 for the $20 Double Eagle. This stunning 2006 dated Proof, with a face value of $25 and a final reported mintage of 34,322, measures 27 mm in diameter, struck from 1/2 Troy oz. of .9167 fine gold at the U.S. Mint's branch located in West Point, New York.

Stunning Historic American Coinage Design

The obverse portrays Saint-Gaudens' Lady Liberty surrounded by fifty stars, as she moves forward carrying a lit torch her right hand and olive branch in her left. "LIBERTY," "2006" and "W" are inscribed.

Designed by Miley Busiek, the reverse features a mighty bald eagle in flight, an olive branch gripped in its talons; below, his mate and young await his return in an incredibly detailed nest.

Virtually Perfect Proof 69 Ultra Cameo

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) reviewed this 2006-W Proof Gold Eagle and deemed it to be in nearly flawless Proof 69 condition. The proof also earned the certification Ultra Cameo (UC), which describes the remarkable visual contrast between the frosted design elements and the mirrored backgrounds. The $25 Proof is sealed in a labeled NGC protective holder.

This $25 American Gold Eagle struck in the milestone year of 2006 will be a treasured addition to your Gold Proof collection!
