The Silver Libertad is the official silver bullion coin of Mexico. This series was introduced in 1982. In 2006, this 1 oz. Silver Libertad was struck at the Mexico City Mint. It is made of .999 fine silver and mintage was low compared to many other years of the series. There were 300,000 of these coins struck.

Iconic Mexican Designs

The obverse features a large depiction of Mexico's current national seal at the center. A number of previously used varieties are placed around it in a circular pattern.

A statue of Winged Victory is at the center of the design on the reverse. A detailed landscape can be seen behind the statue. The landscape shows a pair of volcanoes. The inscriptions on this side include the date, weight, purity and Mint mark.
