Why add the 2005 American Silver Eagle BU to your collection?
This excellent 2005 American Silver Eagle could be the next Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) addition to your collection. Each coin contains 1 oz. of .999 fine silver bullion and is a legal tender silver dollar coin in the United States. The American Silver Eagle program is the flagship silver bullion program from the United States Mint. The series has been struck since 1986 and is one of the most popular silver coins for stacking and collecting, due to the high quality, wide recognition and U.S. Government backing. The mintage of this issue is 8,891,025 which is relatively lower than the average ASE mintages from the last few years.
Timeless Obverse Imagery
The familiar obverse design of the 1 oz. American Silver Eagle is borrowed from Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty half dollar, which debuted over 100 years ago. This design features Lady Liberty walking while she is wrapped in the American Flag. She also carries branches of oak and laurel. The reverse is the most famous design from the U.S. Mint's now retired 12th Chief Engraver, John M. Mercanti. It features a Heraldic Bald Eagle holding arrows and the olive branch of Peace in his talons.
Precious and Collectible BU
