Why Add This GEM Proof 2004-S US Mint Silver Proof Quarter Set in Original Goverment Packaging to Your Collection?

The America the Beautiful quarters program is interesting, but it was the 50 State quarters program that really started to bring new people to the hobby in droves. The quarters in this silver proof set were struck in 2004 at the San Francisco Mint. The designs included in this set are Michigan, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, and Iowa. These quarters are 90% silver, unlike their circulating counterparts.

Iowa, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, and Michigan State Designs

Like other quarters issued for the 50 State quarters program, the obverse of each of these coins features a detailed bust of George Washington. This is also where the face value and Mint mark can be found.

The state design is located on the reverse of each respective quarter. As you may expect, the design for each state depicts something that state is known for. The Florida design features a space shuttle and the Texas design displays a star over the state.

GEM Proof in Original Mint Packaging

These quarters have not been graded by a third-party grading service. They are in GEM Proof condition and come with their original government packaging. This includes a sealed plastic case that protects all 5 coins, a certificate of authenticity from the Mint, and an outer box with a bald eagle design.
