Why should you purchase a 2003-W 1 oz. Proof Silver Eagle coin graded PF69 UC by NGC?

The American Silver Eagle 1 oz. coin has been the official silver bullion coin of the United States since it was first released in 1986. Each of these near perfect 2003-W 1 oz. Proof Ultra Cameo American Silver Eagles has been certified PF69 UC by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation). Each has a face value of $1 dollar, is 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, measures 40.6mm in diameter and 2.98mm in thickness. The coin has reeded edges with an approximate weight of 31.1 grams.

The coin was first released in 1986 and has been produced by the United Stated Mint each year since. The 2003 Silver Eagle remains unchanged from its predecessors and shares the previous obverse and reverse design. The obverse design pays homage to the "Walking Liberty" Half Dollar coin designed by Adolph A. Weinman and remains one of the most beloved designs of any United States coinage. The reverse was designed by John Mercanti and portrays a heraldic eagle with a shield; an olive branch is grasped in its right talon and arrows in its left talon, echoing the Great Seal of the United States. Above the eagle are thirteen stars to represent the original Colonies. Inscribed on the reverse are the phrases “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER”, “ONE DOLLAR”, and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.
