Why add the 2003 American Silver Eagle NGC MS69 Murel Hoard to your collection?
This 2003 American Silver Eagle coin is part of an interesting story as it is part of a hoard found hidden away in the closet of one, Mr. Murel. This piece earned the grade of Mint State 69 (MS69) from the industry experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) and carries a pedigree forever tying it to its unique backstory.

Reverse: The reverse features an original design from John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. The image is a Heraldic Eagle depicted behind the Union shield. Overhead floats an inverted triangular field of thirteen stars.
Mr. Murel's Hoard
In 2020, a lifelong coin collector known as Mr. Murel passed away. He never trusted banks. Instead of making deposits, he bought a whopping total of EIGHTEEN ASE Monster Boxes in 2002 and 2003 and sealed them into the wall of his bedroom closet! His collection also comprised over $22k in face value of 90% "Junk" silver coins as well as other numismatic items. The coins sat undisturbed, encapsulated in the wall for seventeen years until last year. These coins were examined and a limited number that were expected to grade well were submitted to NGC. Out of 7,000 coins, only 18 of the 2003 American Silver Eagles submitted to NGC qualified for the Mint State 69 grade, and once they are gone, they are gone! To honor Mr. Murel's legacy, NGC immortalized him with a pedigree on this exceptional collector coin.
