Why add this 2001-D Buffalo S$1 Dollar NGC MS70 Mint State 70 to your collection?

This 2001-D Buffalo Dollar Commemorative bears the James Earle Fraser designs that were first used on the Buffalo nickel. The same design continues to be used on the Gold Buffalo, so these designs were well familiar to coin collectors at the point that this was released. The reverse features a buffalo that is oriented toward the left side of the coin. Its full profile is on display and dominates the face of the coin. On the obverse is Fraser’s composite portrait of a Native American man. Two feathers are included at the back of his head, and his long hair is tied to the side. The mint mark, a “D,” is inscribed under the coin’s face value, “ONE DOLLAR,” at the bottom of the reverse. This coin consists of .74 Troy oz. of constitutional silver. It measures 38.1 mm in diameter and is 3.1 mm thick. It received the Numismatic Guaranty Corporations perfect grade of MS70, and the label includes both a certification number and bar code for easy authentication.
