Why add this Brilliant Uncirculated 2001 American Silver Eagle coin to your collection of precious metal treasures?
The American Silver Eagle series was introduced by the U.S. Mint in 1986 as the official silver bullion coin of the United States. The Silver Eagle continues to be one of the most popular and highly sought after precious metals products across the globe, with imagery celebrating the national themes of liberty, peace and freedom.
Breathtaking Patriotic Imagery
Obverse: The obverse is adorned with a rendition of Lady Liberty casually strolling toward the rising sun while draped in the distinctive stars and stripes of the American flag. Ms. Liberty is depicted carrying an enormous bouquet of oak and laurel branches, which are symbols of honor, strength and victory. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "2001" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." This timeless personification of Liberty by famed early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman made its first appearance on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: The reverse features a heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch and arrows, with thirteen stars above. This is the classic Type-1 design which was struck on all Silver Eagle releases from 1986 until mid-2021. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The stunningly patriotic design is credited to John Mercanti, who served as the U.S. Mint's 12th Chief Engraver from 2006-2010.
