Why buy this 2000-Mo Mexican 1 oz. Silver Libertad?

This Mexican 2000-Mo 1 oz. Silver Libertad is perfect for collectors of turn-of-the-century coins. It was struck from .999 fine silver at the Casa de Moneda de Mexico, which is represented by the unique "Mo" Mint mark on the reverse. Just 340,000 of these coins were minted.

Stunning Winged Victory Design

The obverse of this coin bears eleven unique designs. At the center is the current coat of arms of Mexico, which consists of an eagle consuming a snake. The eagle is perched upon a cactus. Although the original symbolism behind the image is more complex, modern interpretations simplify it as the victory of good over evil. Ten other designs, historical Mexican coats of arms, encircle the current one.

At the center of the reverse stands Winged Victory, a statue in Mexico City that symbolizes the country's independence. It is flanked in the distance by two volcanoes, Iztaccíhuatl y Popocatepetl, which are named for lovers in ancient lore.

Almost Perfect MS69 with Exclusive Mexico Label

This coin received the second highest grade given out by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, Mint State 69 (MS69), which means that it has just one or two minuscule imperfections. NGC provided that grade on a label that bears an image of the pyramid at Chichen Itza, against a backdrop of the Mexican flag.
