World Famous Athlete Michael Jordan

In February of 1963, Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn. His family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina when he was still quite young. Jordan was a very athletic child. Today we all know him from his career in the NBA, but at that point he played basketball, baseball, and football. Much has been said about his work ethic over the years and it was visible when he was young as well. As a sophomore he tried out for his school's varsity basketball team. However, he didn't make the team. He then spent the next year practicing harder than before and also made a big impression on the junior varsity court. The next year he made varsity.

Jordan experienced plenty of success before joining the Tar Heels. He was highly successful on the college court as well and had a lot of eyes on him as he neared the end of his eligibility. After just 3 years with the Tar Heels he headed to the NBA. The Chicago Bulls selected him in the first round as the third pick overall. In addition to being known today as one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, many also know Jordan from his endorsements and appearances.
