Why purchase this pristine First Day of Issue 2-Piece set of 2020-(P) American Silver Eagle bullion coins?
The U.S. Mint was faced with a unique challenge in spring 2020, to safely keep up with increased demand of its popular American Silver Eagle series during the global coronavirus pandemic. From April 8-20, an Emergency Production of 240,000 Silver Eagle bullion coins were struck at the Mint's Philadelphia branch. This beautiful set features two bullion American Silver Eagles dated 2020, each struck at the Philadelphia Mint from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver. While the bullion variety typically does not carry a Mint mark, the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has authenticated the coins' Philadelphia origin on their certification labels.
Classic Walking Liberty Design
Adolph A. Weinman's timeless design for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar appears on each obverse. Lady Liberty is portrayed walking towards the sunrise draped in the American flag.
Each reverse features John Mercanti's iconic rendition of an eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows, with thirteen stars above.
