Beautiful, Iconic Obverse and Reverse Designs
Obverse: The obverse design used is the spectacular “Liberty Walking” design from Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic half dollar. Liberty is depicted traversing a rocky, hazardous landscape as she freely shares freedom, prosperity and strength. Weinman’s initials are restored to the Type 2 Silver Eagle design.
Reverses: The Type 1 reverse design is John Mercanti’s familiar Heraldic Eagle, appearing one last, majestic time. The Type 2 reverse design is the premier of Emily Damstra’s dynamic Landing Eagle, ushering us into the future.
Display Packaging, Numbered Types 1 & 2 Design Set
Both Silver Eagles are in GEM BU condition which means that they would grade at Mint State 65 or higher if submitted for a numerical grade. The flag themed booklet opens to display the Mercanti designed reverse and the Damstra designed reverse, perfectly showing the past and the future of this iconic series.
