Why purchase this 1921 Morgan + 1922 Silver Peace Dollar Set?

The United States Mint introduced the Peace Dollar in 1921 to commemorate a time of peace in the nation following World War I. This set includes a 1921-dated Morgan dollar example, representing the last year of production for this beloved design. The second coin of the set is a Peace dollar struck in 1922 with a modified lower relief die, its mintage reported as 51,737,000. Each dollar included in this set was struck at the Philadelphia Mint from 0.7734 Troy oz. of .900 fine silver.

Peace Dollar Design by Anthony de Francisci

Lady Liberty is featured on the obverse, her windswept hair embellished with a spectacular radiate style crown. Liberty's image is based on the likeness of de Francisci's twenty-two year old wife, Teresa Cafarelli. Inscribed "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," with date below.

An eagle is depicted on the reverse, standing on a boulder gripping an olive branch, with the sun's rays in the background. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "ONE DOLLAR" and "PEACE."

Gorgeous Mint State 64

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has graded each coin in this 2-Coin Set to be a stunning Mint State 64. The choice uncirculated coins display an above average strike and overall attractive eye appeal, with mint luster fully intact. The coins are encapsulated individually in labeled NGC holders.
