Why purchase this Mexico 1997-Mo 1 oz. Silver Libertad?

This 1 oz. Silver 1997-Mo Mexican Libertad was part of the fifteenth-anniversary issue of this extremely popular series. Issued by Banco de Mexico and struck at the Casa de Moneda de Mexico from .999 fine silver, the coin bears the famous "Mo" Mint mark. With a mintage of just 100,000 pieces, this coin comes from the third lowest mintage in the series.

Exquisite Winged Victory Design

Dominating the obverse is the Mexican coat of arms. Unlike recent editions of the coin, the arms fill this face of the coin. The focal point is an eagle, which is perched on a cactus, consuming a snake. Arching over the image is the name of the issuing country in Spanish, "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS."

The reverse features Winged Victory, a statue that stands in Mexico City as a symbol of the nation's independence. In the distance are a pair of volcanoes, Iztaccíhuatl y Popocatepetl.

Virtually Flawless Mint State 69 with Exclusive Mexico Label

This coin received the second highest available grade, Mint State 69, from the experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. MS69 means that a coin appears perfect to the naked eye but has at least one minuscule imperfection. This grade has been provided on a label that bears an image of a building at Chichen Itza, one of Mexico's most famous historical sites.
