Why add this 1997 Silver Libertad coin to your collection?

The Mexican Libertad series has been produced since 1982 by the Casa de Moneda de Mexico, the oldest operating Mint in North America. The Libertads issued from 1996-1999 stand out among the series, featuring newly designed angel imagery on the reverse, with the original coat of arms obverse (which remained unchanged until 2000). This 1997 Libertad bullion coin contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver, its final mintage reported to be one of the lowest of the series at 100,000.

Beautifully Detailed Iconic Imagery

Winged Victory stands on the Mexican Independence Victory Column on the reverse, with the volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl rising in the background. Inscriptions include "1 ONZA PLATA PURA 1997 LEY .999" and the Mint mark "Mo."

The obverse depicts the Mexican Coat of Arms, featuring a golden eagle standing upon a prickly pear cactus, while holding a rattlesnake in its beak. The image is encircled by the inscription "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" (United Mexican States) and a wreath comprised of oak and laurel.

Impressive Mint State 68

This 1997-Mo Mexico Silver Libertad coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for authentication and review. Featuring a sharp strike, nearly perfect surfaces and outstanding eye appeal, the bullion coin was awarded the grade of Mint State 68. The 1 oz. silver bullion coin is presented in a sonically sealed protective holder accompanied by a NGC certification label.

This low mintage 1997 Libertad 1 oz. silver bullion coin will be a fantastic addition to your collection!
