A True Legend of the GameSome consider Kobe Bryant the greatest basketball player of all time. He made a name for himself in high school, earning four-team Parade All-American honors as a junior. As a senior, he was a first-team Parade All-American and first-team McDonald's All-American. Bryant was also the Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Rather than play collegiate ball, he became the sixth player in history to enter the NBA Draft straight out of high school. Bryant was selected with the thirteenth pick of the 1996 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he played his entire career. He made major contributions at both ends of the floor, earning All-NBA First Team honors eleven times and All-NBA Defensive First Team honors nine times. Bryant was a five time NBA Champion and twice Finals MVP. He played in 18 All-Star Games and was the league MVP in 2008. Bryant also enjoyed international success, winning Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012. Bryant tragically died with his daughter Gianna and seven others in a helicopter crash in 2020.
