Patriotic and Historic Designs

Obverse: Sculptor Adolph A. Weinman designed this Liberty Walking image used on the obverse of the series. A full-length Lady Liberty strides with confidence as she is depicted sharing symbols of success and strength across America.

Reverse: Now retired 12th Chief Engraver of the U,S. Mint, John Mercanti designed this reverse. The heraldic eagle is depicted behind a shield with wings fully spread. The eagle holds arrows for defense and an olive branch symbolizing peace. Over the eagle's head is an inverted triangular field of thirteen stars which symbolize the original thirteen colonies.

Toned Gem BU

Gem BU coins are fully struck, sharply detailed examples with spectacular eye appeal and mint luster. Toning is a natural process that results from the reaction of the silver and environmental factors like moisture and ambient chemicals. Toned coins can be popular with some collectors due to their unique eye-appeal.
