All-Time Great Michael JordanMichael Jordan was born in Brooklyn in 1963. A few years later while he was still young, the family packed up and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. As a young athlete, Jordan excelled at multiple sports. He played basketball, football, and baseball. Today, we know that his work ethic was a major factor in his incredible success as a professional athlete. One of the earliest situations where this showed itself was when he tried out for the varsity basketball team as a sophomore. Jordan didn't make the team, so he began practicing even harder and really turned it up on the junior varsity court. The next season he was on the varsity team. Given his early start in the NBA, it's not surprising that Jordan's skills got plenty of attention at the college level while he played for the North Carolina Tar Heels. After just 3 seasons there he was off to the NBA. The Chicago Bulls selected him in the first round, and he spent the vast majority of his career with them. In addition to becoming arguably the greatest NBA player of all-time and an NBA Champion many times over, Jordan is also known around the world for his appearances and endorsements.
