Why purchase this 1995-D US Atlanta Olympic Paralympics Commemorative in MS70 condition?

The NGC Mint State 70 1995 Paralympics silver dollar listed here was issued to celebrate the 1996 Summer Paralympics held in Atlanta – the first Paralympics to get mass media exposure. It was also the first where INAS (International Sports Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability) athletes received full medal status.

The reverse of this 1995 Paralympics commemorative silver dollar reflects the work of William J. Krawczewicz (WJK) and T. James Ferrell (TJF) – a pair of grasped hands below the 1996 Olympics centennial logo. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E Pluribus Unum,” “Atlanta,” “ONE DOLLAR,” the “D” Mint mark of the Denver Mint and the initials “WJK” and “TJF.”

The obverse features a blind runner and guide along with the following inscriptions: “TRIUMPH OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT,” (motto X Paralympic Games), “PARALYMPICS,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “LIBERTY,” “1995” and the initials “JCS” and “TDR.” These are the initials of Jim C. Sharpe and Thomas D. Rogers, Sr. They designed and sculpted the obverse of this 1995 Paralympics commemorative silver dollar.

This NGC certified 1995 silver dollar, minted at the Denver Mint, comes in top grade – the first choice of professional coin collectors.
