Why order this Commemorative 1994-W Women in the Armed Forces Silver Dollar?

Women have long played important but often overlooked roles in the armed forces. This 1994-W commemorative recognizes their important contributions to America's defenses. The coin was struck at the West Point Mint, which is represented by a "W" mint mark on the reverse, on a .7734 oz. planchet of .900 fine silver. It is a great choice for women who have served in the military, their relatives, and anyone else who wishes to honor the sacrifices that these brave women have made.

Dignified Women in the Military Design by T. James Ferrell

T. James Ferrell designed the obverse. Five women are shown in profile standing side by side in military uniforms. Along the rim are the names of the branches of the military, "ARMY," "MARINES," "NAVY," "AIR FORCE," and "COAST GUARD." "LIBERTY," the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "1994," are also inscribed on this face.

The reverse was designed by Thomas D. Rogers, Sr. It depicts the Women in the Military Service Memorial, the name of which is inscribed above it.

Virtually Flawless MS69

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) awarded this coin their second highest grade, Mint State 69. That means that it appears perfect to the naked eye.
