Why Order This PR70 DCAM 1994-W $50 Proof Gold Eagle?

The American Gold Eagle is one of the most well-known coins being struck by the U.S. Mint today. The series began over 30 years ago and it quickly became a favorite of collectors. This 1994 1 oz. Proof Gold Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint. Like other coins of the series, it's made of 22 karat gold. There were 46,674 of these minted. This figure is moderate compared to other years of the series.

Exquisitely Detailed Obverse and Reverse Designs

The obverse features the work of acclaimed artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design was originally used for the Double Eagle. Liberty is shown in stride in front of our nation's Capitol building with her torch held high. The date and mintmark can be found on this side.

On the reverse a bald eagle is pictured with an olive branch in its talons. It has just returned to the nest where the rest of the family is waiting. This stunningly detailed design is by Miley Busiek.

The Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) certified this proof Gold Eagle. No flaws were found when it was examined, so it received a perfect Proof 70 (PF70) grade. Since it displays excellent visual contrast it was also given the Deep Cameo (DCAM) designation.
