Why order this 1994-P Proof American Silver Eagle

This Proof Silver American Eagle was struck back in 1994 at the Philadelphia Mint, as evidenced by its "P" Mint mark. The coin was struck from .999 fine silver, this coin is part of a mintage of 372,168 pieces, low relative to the previous year and initial year of issue. That, along with the relatively low quality of the 1994 issue, makes this Proof 69 Deep Cameo coin particularly attractive.

Patriotic Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

The obverse of this 1994-P Proof Silver American Eagle bears the Walking Liberty design that Adolph Weinman created for the half dollar. An American flag-draped Liberty carries laurel and oak branches as she strides toward the left side of the coin. There, the sun rises from beyond the horizon.

John Mercanti's reverse design was modeled off of the Great Seal of the United States. Thirteen stars at the top represent the original states, while an eagle, below, protects a union shield. In its talons, the eagle holds symbols of readiness for war, arrows, and peace, an olive branch.

Nearly Flawless Proof 69 Deep Cameo

This coin received the Professional Coin Grading Service's (PCGS) second highest grade, Proof 69. PCGS also gave the coin certification as a Deep Cameo, which is a distinction given to coins with particularly strong contrasts between frosted and mirrored sections.
