NBA Legend Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn. While MJ was still rather young the family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. While much can be said about Michael Jordan's NBA career, it was his work ethic that set the stage for his enormous success. Jordan has recounted how he tried out for the varsity basketball team as a sophomore. He didn't make the team. His response to this disappointment was to sharpen his skills and practice more. After showing his improving skills on the junior varsity court as a sophomore, he had no problem making the varsity team as a junior.
MJ was quick to make a splash at the college level as well. After 3 seasons playing for the Tar Heels while racking up awards and accolades, he declared his eligibility for the NBA draft. In the 1984 draft he was selected third overall in the first round by the Chicago Bulls. He spent most of his career with the Bulls, aside from his final few seasons with the Washington Wizards. Many believe Michael Jordan is the best of all-time. Before retiring as a player, he won 6 NBA Championships.
