Why Buy This Proof 70 Ultra Cameo 1993-P Proof 1/10 oz. Gold Eagle?

In 1986, the US Mint unveiled the very first coins of the American Gold Eagle series. Today, these are some of the most popular gold bullion coins available. This 1993 Gold Eagle has a proof finish. It was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and has an actual gold weight of 1/10 Troy oz. Compared to other years that the 1/10 oz. Gold Eagle was available with a proof finish, this coin had a moderate mintage. There were 58,649 of them struck by the Mint.

Exquisite Gold Eagle Design

The design on the obverse was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design shows his depiction of Liberty. With the sun's rays in the background, she can be seen holding a torch and an olive branch.

The reverse displays the work of Miley Busiek. In this design, a family of bald eagles is pictured. This side is inscribed with the actual gold weight of the coin.

Perfect Proof 70 and Ultra Cameo from NGC

The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) was chosen to grade and encapsulate this Gold Eagle. When it was inspected, no flaws could be found. That's why it received a perfect Proof 70 grade. Since it exhibits excellent visual contrast, it was also awarded the Ultra Cameo designation.
