Why buy 1993-P Proof American Silver Eagles?
American Silver Eagles are one of the most popular modern series of one ounce silver coins in the world. Given this popularity, a mintage figure of fewer than 500,000 coins is a relatively small number with a supply that is increasingly lower than demand.
American Silver Eagles have one of the more beautiful designs of any modern silver issue. The obverse design, by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, was originally used in 1916 for the half dollar. It has remained such a popular design, it was brought back out for the Silver Eagles, first issued in 1986 - 70 years after the design's first use.
The reverse design is that of a heraldic eagle - an American symbol that goes back to the origin of the United States and the creation of the national seal with the Eagle as the chief design element in that seal. Thirteen stars form a triangle above the eagle's head, one for each of the thirteen original states.
Proof American Silver Eagles are popular, low mintage, and bear a beautiful design. Start or continue your collection today with this GEM Proof example that comes in its original display case and box from the US Mint.
