Why add this 1992-S 50C Columbus Half Dollar Commemorative NGC PF70 UC to your collection?

This 1992-S Columbus Half Dollar Commemorative is ideal for collectors who have a serious interest in world history. The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) has certified that the coin is in perfect condition, warranting its highest grade of PF70. T. James Ferrell designed both faces of the coin. On the obverse, he shows Christopher Columbus setting foot on land. Behind him are some of his sailors and a small boat, and the Santa Maria further off in the distance. The year of discovery, “1492,” and the year of the anniversary, “1992,” are inscribed at the bottom, along with the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” To the right is the “S” Mint mark of the San Francisco Mint, and Ferrell’s initials are inscribed on the lower right. The reverse of the coin shows the three ships that set off on the journey, the Santa Maria, Nina, and Pinta, at full sail on the high seas. The Santa Maria is the largest, with its mast and flag atop it extending beyond the circular frame that separates the image from the rim. Inside that frame arching over the image is the inscription “500TH ANNIVERSARY OF COLUMBUS DISCOVERY.” Celebrate one of the most important events in world history by adding this piece to your collection.
