Why add the 1992-P $5 Gold Eagle NGC PF69 UC to your collection?

This 1992-P $5 Gold Eagle was graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The mintage of 64,874 represents a decline from earlier years.

The US Mint introduced the flagship American Gold Eagle bullion program in 1986. This $5 legal tender coin contains 1/10 oz of gold and was minted at the Philadelphia Mint.

The obverse was designed by well-known sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens originally for his redesign of American Gold Coinage in 1907. Lady Liberty is shown holding the torch of Freedom and an olive branch. She is back lit by the rays of the sun.

The reverse of the coin was designed by the US Mint engraver and designer Miley Busiek. This is where the name “Eagle” comes from, as the reverse features a male bald eagle in flight while a nest of eagles is below.

This 1992-P $5 Gold Eagle is a proof coin made especially for collectors. The process to mint these coins takes extra care and preparation of the dies which are polished and the planchet, which is also specially polished. The Ultra Cameo notation underscores the deep contrast between the details of the coin and the fields of the coin.

Early high quality examples of $5 1/10 oz. American Gold Eagles are a great addition to any collection of coins and bullion. Order your 1992-P graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo Gold Eagle from ModernCoinMart today!
