Design of the 1991-S US Mint Proof Coin Set
This 6-piece 1991-S United States Proof Set includes the following coins: Kennedy Half-Dollar, Washington Quarter, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and a Lincoln Cent. All coins are double struck to achieve the maximum perfection of the mirror surfaces and special dies are used for this purpose. Each proof coin features double-struck frosted engravings along with mirror fields in the background. All of the coins in this set were minted at the San Francisco Mint and carry the "S" mint mark. The packaging for the 1991 Proof Set remained the same as the previous year with purple casing. The coins are placed in round slots and then sealed in a plastic lens. Then they are placed into a purple box with silver printing that reads, "United States Mint Proof Set."
