1991-S $1 Mount Rushmore Silver Dollar
This commemorative marks the Golden Anniversary (50 years) of the completion of Mount Rushmore. After historian Doane Robinson designed the monument, Gutzon and Lincoln Borglum directed construction from 1927 to 1941. While construction ended in 1941 due to lack of funding, the original design called for the torso of each president to be sculpted into the side of the mountain. Mount Rushmore is an iconic symbol of America, and is recognized throughout the world!
