Why order this Gold $25 1991-P Eagle

This 1/2 oz. $25 Gold 1991-P Eagle was struck from .9167 fine gold at the Philadelphia Mint. That Mint's "P" Mint mark is inscribed on the obverse. 53,125 of these were issued. This coin is perfect for those looking for an early issue of the Gold Eagle Proof.

Iconic Design by Augustus St. Gaudens

The obverse of this Gold Eagle Proof was designed by Augustus St. Gaudens. The image first appeared on the double eagle in 1907. Considered by many the most beautiful design in numismatic history, it features Liberty standing at the center holding her torch of freedom in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The image is set against a backdrop of the U.S. Capitol Building and the rays of the sun.

The reverse was designed by Miley Busiek. At the bottom, a mother eagle cares for her young in the nest. Above, the male returns to its family with an olive branch in its claws. Inscriptions include the weight and face value of the coin.

Flawless Proof 70 Ultra Cameo

This coin received the certification of Ultra Cameo from the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) because of the strong contrasts between frosted devices and mirrored sections on both faces. NGC also certified that the coin was struck perfectly and lacks any flaws visible under 5x magnification by giving it their highest grade of Proof 70.
