In 1991, the U.S. Mint issued commemorative coins highlighting Mount Rushmore. This half dollar was struck at the Denver Mint and has an uncirculated finish. This is a clad coin, it has no silver content. Mintage of the uncirculated version was a little low. There were 172,754 of these struck.
Iconic Mount Rushmore design
Mount Rushmore is depicted on the obverse. The sun's rays can be seen in the background and the word "LIBERTY" is at the top of the design.
The reverse displays a detailed bison. The Mint mark is located just to the right of it. The face value is inscribed at the bottom and the entire design is surrounded by a circle of stars.
