Why order this 1990 Switzerland Winterthur Silver Proof Shooting Thaler in its original Mint capsule?

The tradition of Swiss shooting thalers goes all the way back to the mid-1800s. The thaler shown here was issued for the Winterthur shooting festival held in 1990. It has a proof finish and a face value of 50 Swiss francs. Like other shooting thalers, mintage of this one was limited. Only 5,000 were struck.

Helvetia and Target designs

The design on the obverse shows 2 female figures standing next to each other. The woman on the right is Helvetia, the female personification of Switzerland. She can be seen holding a Swiss shield. The date is inscribed near the bottom of the design.

On the reverse, a target can be seen. It is encircled by a highly detailed wreath. A pair of rifles are crossed at the bottom of the wreath.

Original Mint Capsule

This shooting thaler has not been graded or encapsulated by a third-party service. It is still protected by its original Mint capsule, just like when it was released for the festival in 1990.
